Week four of the Student Blogging Challenge allows you to catch up or write a free choice post.

I suggest for the Free choice post about Lockdown.  This could be the diary entry from the Google Slide.  Tell people what you have been up to, add videos and photos.  Remember to comment on others to get comments on yours.

Or some other ideas

Free Choice

sign saying go
What’s something that interests you? Write about it!
Stuck for ideas?
  • Do you feel like writing about your experience with the global pandemic? What is it like for you? Are you learning at home?
  • Check out these 100 blogging prompts for students.
  • Here are 50 more blogging prompts for students.
  • Do you like poetry? This post on The Edublogger has 15 ideas for fun poetry activities.
  • One of the teachers in our blogging community, Sheri Edwards, created a tutorial showing how to make a character out of Google Drawings. Why not make a character and blog about it?
  • Sheri has another great post about Sharing Hobbies. It might give you even more ideas about sharing and connecting.
If you write a free choice post this week, submit it in the Google Form at the bottom of this post.

Bitmoji Image Have Fun

Hey Room 14,

It is now the holidays - enjoy a break and keep yourself busy!!

I know I have been doing puzzles, board games, a bit of Netflix and some reading, ohhh and cleaning (great time for some spring cleaning).

In this post, I have a few things...
- Blogging Challenge Task - Week Two
- 100 Word Challenge
- 30 day photography challenge

You don't have to do any of these but I thought I would put it out there to give you something to do if you are looking for something.
Comment below and let me know you have checked in!!

Missing seeing you all :)

This week there are four tasks to learn about commenting STUBC

It's all about commenting which we are getting better at as we give peer feedback weekly to others in writing so let's jump on to different people's blogs and give them feedback as well.  Think of BEG (sorry, don't have a photo of the posters at home) but also some other good visuals below.

How to write a quality comment Kathleen Morris

More examples:
  • Miaomiao included a cute comic where a dolphin and turtle learn about quality commenting.
  • Mrs. Yollis made a wonderful infographic using Canva and Bitmoji to share her expectations for quality comments.
  • “Dr. Hagle” and “Sarah Gold” used Puppet Pals to explain quality commenting using a Fairy BLOGmother!
  • Rajyashori used emojis to explain her commenting guidelines.
  • Brenton used some specific examples of what makes a good comment.
  • Karl explained a great “3 C and a Q” approach to commenting.

Lastly, please add your blogs URL to this sheet so people can get commenting on your blog!

Latest prompt(s)

Let's share our recipes and a photo of what we have baked or cooked.

Add the recipe and a photo to this shared Padlet and if we get enough people adding their recipes, I will share it with the community to give other people ideas and inspo.

Week 6 Blogging Task

Hi team,

Friday was swimming sports and it was an awesome day.  I loved seeing everyone having a go and getting involved.  Well dobne for Konini for winning.

This week, I would like you to reflect on swimming sport and our swimming programme this term...

I would like you to blog about your experience of the day. What did you enjoy? How did you feel? Were you nervous? Was it better or worse than you expected? Remember that your blog will be read by people that were not at our sports day, so you need to make sure you explain fully what happens.
